Case Study Central AZ Land Trust

""As we have grown, Great Expectations has been a constant companion to our organization and their work has allowed us to focus on our mission, knowing that our accounting is in good hands."

- Board of Directors, CALT

At a glance: Central Arizona Land Trust (CALT) is a 501(c)3 non- profit that is dedicated to preserving open spaces in central Arizona through Conservation Easements.

Key metrics: Great Expectations Business Services, LLC has worked with CALT since 2013 and helps them account for their six Conservation Easements.

  •  3.5X : increase in revenue.

  • +4,500: Acres maintained under Conservation Easements.

BACKGROUND: CALT holds seven conservation easements that are maintained to protect a range of properties; from working farms and ranches to riparian habitats and wildlife corridors. During this time, their net revenue has gone from just over $60,000 to over $300K in 2021. CALT has seen significant growth and has needed more accounting structure.

RESULTS: CALT signed a seven-figure contract with a local government agency in 2021 for the establishment of further conservation easements. GEBS has worked closely with them to build out controls and processes to ensure the new funders have the transparency and accuracy they require.
